The Mask of Covid.
Should I still wear a face mask when in the shops and other crowded places? Since July 21st, the public have been told by the government that face coverings are no longer a legal requirement in indoor spaces such as shops, however they advise that, “if you feel more comfortable to wear a face covering, please do so as it is a matter of personal choice.”
Thus, every time I have been to the shops, at least 95% of shoppers are wearing a face covering, and many are still wearing them in the open air while on the street, and some even wearing a mask while driving, on their own, in the car.
Looking at the guidelines form the Gov.UK website, we see the following information:
‘When deciding whether you will ask workers or customers to wear a face covering, you would need to consider the reasonable adjustments needed for staff and clients with disabilities. You would also need to consider carefully how this meets with other obligations to workers and customers arising from the law on employment rights, health and safety and equality legislation. Some people are not able to wear face coverings, and the reasons for this may not be visible to others. Please be mindful and respectful of such circumstances.’
Indirectly, this puts the matter squarely on the individual; it’s a matter of personal choice. But, firstly, that relies upon the strength of the people’s personal choice. Secondly, if we have now reached heard immunity and so many have the vaccine, why are so many people still wearing masks?
While on the London underground last week - not
wearing a mask - it was clearly noticeable a good 95% of the other passengers
were still wearing face masks. There were a group of policemen, observing me
and they did not approach me, as I briefly feared they might do, proof that
wearing a mask is not a legal requirement, but a form of social compliance. Indeed,
many of the shoppers I see in the shops are still wearing face masks and there
are even people walking in the fresh air, alone, on the streets, still wearing
face masks. From those that I have spoken to, many explain their decision to
continue wearing the face mask, is to protect others, in case they themselves
might be asymptomatic. Yet I suspect most people are wearing the mask for two
simple reasons: fear and signalling complicity.
Fear that there is still a good chance of death if infected, yet the infection mortality rate is less than 1%, so there are more chances of dying from many other events, illnesses or accidents then actually dying from being infected by Covid 19. But most people are now double jabbed with the vaccine, so the rate of mortality is even less, so more reason to not live-in fear. No, not because of the data and facts, which are now meaningless in most people’s lives. The facts are there is less reason to live in fear, but because of two reasons; a pre-disposed attraction to living in cation, which is what saves us from annihilation and secondly, fear programmed into our minds by multi-national new corporations and entertainment organizations, who keep us in the consumer-loop by playing on our fears.
These organizations know that most people now live in an almost constant state of fear and Covid 19 offers a tangible reason to remain in that constant state of fear without is seeming irrational. But it is completely irrational and self-defeating. It is well known by health professionals that wearing a mask, alone, is not a preventative measure against the contraction of Covid and any benefit they have is soon lost with the wearing of them for more than a couple of hours, as the fibres are now clogged with microns of the virus and many other bacterial molecules, which will soon benefit from the stagnant, dap, moist air around your mouth and nose. Face coverings should be cleaned or preferably replaced every four hours, yet I see many people wearing the same mask in the shop as they did the week before. So, if the case for wearing a mask is not medical, then the case for continuing to wear a mask is nothing more than a show of complicity.
“One of the most cowardly things for ordinary people to do is shut their eyes to facts.”

Prof Jordan Peterson uses the zebra story to explain
fundamental human motivation. Zebras are not camouflaged against the background
but rather camouflaged against the herd. If you mark the zebra so you can track
it, the marked zebra is quickly killed by the lions, because lions must
identify a zebra before they can organize their hunt. People act according to
the same principles and camouflage themselves against the "herd".
People keep their stripes on, so the "lions" don't get them. You
might think that people are aiming at success, but that is not by any means
necessarily true. The negative emotion system is a killer source of motivation.
People aren't after happiness, they're after not hurting. They want to avoid
suffering. Therefore, they try to move into the middle of the "herd",
so that there is a protective ring of people around them that can protect them
from "lions". You might be successful if you stand out from the
"herd", but you also might be "dead". Because there is a
real danger in being visible, people are afraid to stand out. So, the
fundamental human motivation according to Jordan Peterson is to be invisible
and left alone.
The accepted definition of the word compliance is to follow a rule or order, such as when complying to a financial report which is prepared with the clear adheres to standard accounting principles. But what does compliance do in everyday life? It makes our life easier. Compliance to the request that we continue to wear masks, shows that you are a compliant character and signals to authorities that you are far less likely to cause trouble. And if we accept that most people are living their life run by a perpetual state of fear, this makes perfect sense, allowing the individual to live and fight another day, so to speak.
And, according to a recent study: https://medium.com/theusareviewer/the-potential-dangers-of-wearing-a-face-mask-51b9b86980a the wearing of masks can actually lower your immune systems ability to function and fight attacks. Most people who wear them do not clean them or replace them every four hours, and the forced wearing of mask has detrimentally affected the health of those who would have had a healthy immune system. In fact, some are now pointing out that medicine is now becoming a tribal field, where those that dare to differ from the mainstream media are now being shamed, socially isolated on social media platforms and an increasing number are now being pressured through their employer to change or even get sacked.
Not everyone believes the mainstream media and there is a growing gap between what is publicly said, including social media platforms for virtue-signalling, and what is said privately, to spouses or friends down the pub.
I have come to believe that the following statement: ‘Despite being vaccinated, I will continue to wear a mask & observe social distancing,’ is a basic form of virtue signalling, designed to divide us in to good and bad people; bad being the ones who spread it and good being the ones who fight it. This sanctifies those who have the privilege of separating themselves form society, while those who are seeking honest facts are pushed aside and forced to take on the fear and anxiety of Covid.
When ID card were proposed in 2004, they were met with widespread criticism, but a Covid passport will be ushered in under the guise of health and safety, or for the safety of others.
