Vaccinated, just like the rest of us.
As of June 2021, The UK has almost 90% of adults in the country now vaccinated, which compares favourably to most of the world. This is something that most of the general public are pleased about as it means the lifting of draconian measures brought in March of 2020 in order to slow the spread of Covid 19. Not everyone is pleased about this, such as Larry, a friend who has long mistrusted the word of government and health officials in the UK.
“Vaccinated? Not me,” he smirked, “I’m not one of the masses.”
“You actually are one of the masses, we all are…”
“… Not one of the idiots, then, you know what I mean,” Larry interrupted.
Larry was sure he wasn’t going to make the mistake I had made, by getting vaccinated. I had now, according to Larry, allowed the government to infect me with nanotechnology, or was going to have an altered DNA, suffer a disabled immune system, or at least die many years earlier than expected, falling into the cunning plan of a small group of trillionaires who wanted to drastically cut the world population.
“It will alter your DNA and then you’ll be genetically disfigured for life.”
“How do you know that?”
“How do you know it’s safe?”
“I don’t. I guess I have to believe what the doctors…”
“Oh really? That’s what a sheep would say.”
“Well, I just …”
“And then be genetically altered for the rest of your life? Good luck to you!”
I must concede that I don’t know either way, but I couldn’t imagine what benefit it could be for a government to alter the DNA of its population or kill most of them off.
“It’s called de-population.”
“What is?”
“There is a group of trillionaires…”
“Trillionaires?”
“Yes, people who have loads of money and run the organisations that secretly run the government.”
“What organisations?”
“If you don’t know, don’t worry about it,” Larry sighed.
“OK, but why would they want to kill their own people?”
“Because there are too many in the world, stupid!”
Rationalising why I thought the vaccine would at least help my immune system, I made the point that anything that helps our immune system can be some good.
“That’s where you’re wrong. Our immune system does a fine job, and the vaccine is deliberately set up to destroy our immune system, makes it weaker and then you die, much earlier then you usually would, of natural causes that is.”
“Then the government kills off tax-payers and what good could...?”
“…No!” Larry interrupted, “You die before claiming your pension, that’s how it works.”
Larry was difficult to talk to when he got in such a rant, but when on the internet, he would push his ant-vaccine agenda on anyone who would listen and subscribed to the same view; effectively shouting into an echo chamber. I wondered if the official line was so dogmatic that it encouraged dissenters to be dogmatically against vaccination in response.
Larry wasn’t the only one who didn’t trust the official line and I can understand. Anyone who has Covid and dies with the covid virus is logged as having died from Covid, thereby pumping up the poultry death rates. I have often wondered if you didn’t see people with masks on, it would be hard to believe there was a pandemic at all. And even the miniscule death rate seems to be reported on the mainstream media as though it is an actual pandemic, so I understand, it is hard to believe what you hear and see in the mainstream media, as most is affiliated to an agenda and some is out-right lies, in a desperate attempt to spread fear. But media spreading fear and drama is nothing new. I tried to explain to Larry, governments often lie, and we (the collective) must play along with group think to get by and get along.
“Get by? You mean submit!”
once I had received the second jab, I remembered Larry, who seemed to be one of the braves not giving in to group think, who had made it clear he wasn’t going to get the jab on principle. I did wonder if Larry might be proved right and that I had unwittingly signed my early death warrant by getting the jabs without protest.
“Just watch, in a few years, you’ll start suffering illnesses, unexplained.”
“Like what?”
“Not sure, but with a lowered immune system, you’ll die earlier, form something you shouldn’t have.”
“Ok, so what do you say to the clinic when they contact you?”
“No thanks, go shove your jab where the sun doesn’t shine!”
It certainly sounded like the kind of thing Larry would say. For all I knew, he was one of the few who had managed to avoid having a jab and seemed happy to do so. He seemed adamant that he would have nothing to do with the vaccine, until he saw others get it first, and was sure that by then the truth would be common knowledge.
“All this fear mongering, just so a small group of global elitists can implant thing into you.”
“Why?” I asked, amazed at the technological capability required to do so.
“So, they can control our minds.”
“Well, I’m happy to have it. I don’t know either way, but willing to take the chance.”
I said I could see no harm in it, yet had a nagging worry that I might just be another sheep, who was aimlessly following my orders. It’s a sobering reminder that I might not be made of heroic stuff.
Then, a week ago, while attending the same clinic with a friend, who was getting their second jab, I noticed Larry, standing in another que just a few feet away and wearing his mask. When he saw me, his face went a discernible red. I think I also felt some embarrassment, knowing how much he had denied the very idea of the vaccine, and had postulated on the strength of saying no to any vaccine. I decided to wait outside with my friend, hoping to get an explanation from Larry.
“Well? What were you doing in there?” I awkwardly asked.
“I was offered the jab, so thought why not? What harm can it do?”
