Crook manor Mystery

Crook Manor Mystery Synopsis

Disturbing, creepy, yet intriguing; a fable for our age. This tale of integrity begins within the lustful, vengeful, petty little mind of a fantasist; manufacturing a conspicuous return to the Orkney islands, he’d left 25 years earlier.

On the face of it, a local lad done good; splashing cash for local businesses, conservation & wild-life trusts, and generous patron to artisans, while managing to keep his wealth an unknown intrigue for locals and visitors to his new art-deco mansion.

Within that Mansion, Harry gathered the people he wanted to impress, or slowly destroy. But this summer evening, a friend and business partner, is found dead. Amongst the gathering, harbours a world of cynical – poison-dripping - mind-games, lust, envy, emotional-manipulation and a desire to kill.

Beautiful surrounding, beautiful people with ugly desires in unholy alliance; a slow-burning examination of relationship-dynamics. An in-depth search of the soul; a riddle that is so well masked, you’ll be guessing all the way through this simply-written tale.

Harry demands an outsider investigate the matter, So Detective Inspector John Rendall is called in from the mainland. He has a connection with Orkney, knows more than he seems, and uses his uniquely disarmingly quick-thinking to reveal the worst of human kind.

The humour is dry, allowing intrigue to develop in the auspicious setting, with deep, insights in to the everyday heroic and the power of lust. The truth is subtly revealed and, only then, revealed to two; one of the characters and the gripped reader of this intriguing tale.
